Welcome to GOERT’s guidelines for propagating native plants in Garry oak habitat, compiled by our Native Plant Propagation Steering Committee (NPPSC).
Each plant has a thumbnail description and photo (where available). For the propagation information, please click on the plant name. Pages can be printed by clicking on file/print. Choose from trees, shrubs, forbs (annuals and perennials), grasses & sedges, ferns & allies or see a complete listing by visiting the propagation index.
As little is known about some of the species, some categories may be blank. We will be adding information as it becomes available, and would appreciate contributions from growers. Please contact us to contribute information.
On this site, you can also find a list of growers who sell native plants, guidelines for responsible seed and plant collection, and designs for native plant gardening in The Garry Oak Gardener’s Handbook.
