Our current funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada for the Back to Our Roots Gardening for Nature Project (BTOR) runs out at the end of March, 2018. Habitat Acquisition Trust (HAT) has graciously included the project in a new application for federal funding. If the proposal is approved the project will be running again in the fall in collaboration with HAT. Meanwhile, if you have any questions about the BTOR Project or wish to be added to a waiting list for potential participants, please contact Chris Junck.
The GOERT Society is also wrapping up its operations soon. However, the Recovery Team intends to continue sharing information and resources through meetings, colloquia and online via the Stewardship Centre for BC website (http://stewardshipcentrebc.ca/resources/). Look for a new GOERT section on the Stewardship Centre website this spring.
We wish to thank Environment and Climate Change Canada and the GOERT Society for supporting the BTOR Project since its inception in 2014. Thanks also to past supporters, the Victoria Foundation and CRD Water. And of course a big thank you to the expert consultants and the many landowners who participated in the project. It has been truly wonderful to work with all of you and to watch your naturescaping projects develop over the years. We hope that this is just a temporary program pause and that we’ll be able to press the start button again soon.
