The Restoration and Management RIG is responsible for guiding restoration and management of Garry oak and associated ecosystems:
- Providing information and tools for outreach
- Developing restoration and management action plans
- Establishing a research and management program to address invasive species
- Establishing a research and management program to address fire and stand dynamics
- Promoting and developing an adequate supply of local and site-appropriate plants and seeds
- Supporting First Nations traditional ecological knowledge and traditional management programs
Within the RIG, three steering commmittees focus on invasive species, native plant propagation, and fire and stand dynamics.
