The Restoration and Management RIG is responsible for guiding restoration and management of Garry oak and associated ecosystems:

  • Providing information and tools for outreach
  • Developing restoration and management action plans
  • Establishing a research and management program to address invasive species
  • Establishing a research and management program to address fire and stand dynamics
  • Promoting and developing an adequate supply of local and site-appropriate plants and seeds
  • Supporting First Nations traditional ecological knowledge and traditional management programs

Within the RIG, three steering commmittees focus on invasive species, native plant propagation, and fire and stand dynamics.
